Celebrate Ganesh Chaturthi with this striking 3.5 ft Visarjan Ganapati idol, hand-crafted in Plaster of Paris (POP) — the traditional medium chosen for its fine sculptable detail and readiness for the visarjan (immersion) ritual that closes the festival.
The standout of the collection: instead of the usual fan-shaped turban, Lord Ganesh wears a tall, peaked golden mukut set with red and green gems and pearl trim, and is fully dressed in a rich royal-blue long-sleeved achkan tunic with gold floral trim and jewelled brooch details, paired with a vivid marigold-yellow dhoti edged in turquoise. He is seated on a maroon arched throne flanked by two silver matsya (fish) figures, backed by a golden sun-and-moon halo disc. The base is hand-painted with "माऊली" (Mauli) in Devanagari script — a devotional epithet unique to this piece. One hand holds a silver conch/paisley ornament; the other is raised in an open blessing gesture with a hand-painted Om symbol on the palm.
He is adorned with gold bangles on every wrist, pearl-and-gem armlets, and layered necklaces, finished with hand-painted red nail detailing and a tripundra forehead mark.
Hand-painted with rich colour and fine gold detailing, this idol is part of the "Heritage" collection by Shri Venilals.
