POP Ganesh Idol – Red & Gold Sequin Dhoti on Teal Carved Throne, 4ft

Welcome Lord Ganesh into your home this Ganesh Chaturthi with this richly dressed ~4 ft Visarjan Ganapati idol, hand-crafted in Plaster of Paris (POP) — the traditional medium chosen for its fine sculptable detail and readiness for the visarjan (immersion) ritual that closes the festival.

The four-armed Ganapati sits in a serene, welcoming posture beneath a tall gold fan-shaped mukut crowned with a deep red centre gem. An olive and mustard-gold uttariya falls across the shoulder over a brilliant red dhoti scattered with gold sequin dots and edged with a heavy scalloped zari border. He is seated on an ornate dark carved wooden throne with a teal oval backrest ringed in red, cushioned by purple bolsters finished with gold buttons and a soft teal seat pad.

Fine detailing runs throughout: gold bangles and armlets at each wrist, layered necklaces across the chest, a painted tilak at the brow and trunk, silver conch and paisley ornaments held in the upper hands, and delicately pink-painted nails — the kind of finishing touches that only come from hand-painting.

Hand-painted with vivid colour and fine gold detailing, this idol is part of the "Heritage" collection by Shri Venilals.
