A glass turtle and plate set — the tortoise (kachua) resting on its own dish, as placed in Vastu Shastra and Feng Shui for longevity, stability and steady good fortune.
The tortoise is traditionally set on the plate with a little water, and positioned facing into the home — most often in the north or north-east, on a hallway console, a shelf near the entrance, or on the mandir alongside the deities. It is a common housewarming, Diwali and Griha Pravesh gift for exactly that reason.
This set is Cupola of Italy, made in 100% lead-free crystal — noticeably brighter and with more sparkle than ordinary pressed glass. The dish is finely fluted with a scalloped rim, and the tortoise carries a textured shell that breaks the light.

Most of what we sell is made by hand in India: our murtis, mandirs, pooja items, sarees and clothing. Because each piece is made by hand, no two are exactly the same.
