Aarti Brass Diya with Handle
Aarti Brass Diya with Handle
Couldn't load pickup availability
A small footed brass diya with a long side handle and a pierced, engraved back plate. Made to be picked up and circled rather than left standing.
The handle is set low and runs well clear of the bowl, so your hand stays away from the heat for as long as the aarti takes. Unfussy and light enough to hold steady with one arm — this is the one most families end up reaching for daily rather than the ornate lamps.
Significance: During aarti the lit lamp is rotated clockwise before the deity while the bell is rung and the aarti is sung. The gesture offers the light back to the one who gave it. The lamp is then passed among those present, who draw the warmth towards themselves with both hands and touch them to the eyes and forehead.
